Jen Levy
Lower School Learning Specialist
Jen Levy received her B.A. in human development from Connecticut College and a dual M.S. degree in both general and special education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City. She lived in New York for five years and taught first grade at The Parkside School. A Bay Area native, Jen returned in 2009 and worked for seven years at Arbor Bay School in San Carlos, a school for children with learning differences. She taught first through third grade and served as a supervising teacher; mentoring other teachers in curriculum development, literacy instruction, and differentiation. Jen has always had a personal interest in teaching reading and is trained in both the Orton Gillingham and Lindamood Bell reading methods. She enjoys figuring out how individual children think and learn, and then identifying the best strategies for their instruction. In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and going on adventures with her husband and two young children. Jen joined Black Pine Circle School in 2017.

A Favorite Book
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. Having spent many years in Brooklyn, the story and themes really resonated with me.
